Fields of the Fatherless

I recently went on an Amazon shopping spree for books on adoption. One in particular ( that is keeping me from finishing a project for grad school) is amazing. Fields of the Fatherless by Tom Davis. So far I am only in the 2nd chapter, but I can't put it down. It really explains how as Christians we should be living as the body of Christ. It is our job to take care of the orphans, widows, and strangers. These groups of people are mention so many times in the Bible. Now I hope I am not violating in copyright laws, but I had to post this quote from the book.
"In this world you are an orphan-
eagerly anticipating your adoption as God's child.
In this world you are a widow-
longing for reunion with your Bridegroom.
In this world you are a stranger-
a pilgrim waiting to become a citizen of heaven.
And in this world, God has called you to care for the orphan, the stranger, and the widow.
Fields of the Fatherless is a journey that brings you back to what Christianity is really about:
-Giving yourself to others
-Being Christ to a hurting world
-And living for the one who comes next."
Although I bought about 6 books from Amazon recently , I am still wanting more. The teacher in me is really trying to find children's books on India. If you are reading this and know of any please let me know. Or of any adoption books for kids.
